"Whoa, this isn't a road, this is a water slide!" said Jack frantically. The Father, who was driving the minivan, turned off of the water slide and onto the ocean. The resort beach was crowded with people enjoying the tropical weather and warm water. Jack, Petunia, The Father, and The Mother looked around at all the traffic in the ocean, but nobody seemed to mind the gridlock; they were there, after all, to have a good time.
When finally they arrived at the playground, they exited the van and started to climb. The enormous structure was an intriguing labyrinth of spongy steps, watery contraptions, slides and informational displays. The atmosphere was festive, despite the congestion of tourists. Water sprayed playfully from various nozzles and poured in and out of buckets, manipulating Rube-Goldberg devices as it flowed here and there. Jack and his family delightedly explored the attraction.
Eventually, Jack noticed two animated figurines that looked like The Father and The Mother. They were carrying on a conversation, breaking occasionally to converse with passersby.
"What is your name?" he asked the female figurine with suspicion.
"Nell," she replied.
Jack leaned in close to Petunia and whispered, "That's the name I was going to use for her!" Jack turned back to the pair and realized they were liquor bottles.
"Who were you going to pick?" he asked Gunther, who had appeared suddenly.
"Mordecai," replied Gunther, confirming Jack's prediction.
"This place seems changed somehow," remarked Jack to his family as they continued on.
