"We really needed that promotion! We can't stay here our whole lives!" said Lakme desperately.
"Why not?" queried Gunther.
Jack looked over at Erin, who sat in a comfy corner chair. She'd had several drinks by now, and was becoming slightly intoxicated. She grinned happily at some joke from a nearby girl.
"She'll probably be embarrased tomorrow," said Jack, thinking about her generally mild personality. Andy, who was snapping pictures, seemed particularly amused by the whole situation.
"You don't pay attention to me when someone else comes along!" Sarah said angrily to Andy.
