Jack and Nealsonic navigated through the water-filled channels that laced the blocky play city. The sky overhead was even and dark, as if a giant lid covered the area. They were returning to a site that they'd just left, for Nealsonic was troubled by deeds undone.
"I think I need to talk to her," said Nealsonic desperately.
Jack considered this carefully. "Well, if that is the way you feel, if you'll really regret not talking to her, then...I think you need to do it."
Nealsonic nodded somberly and climbed out of the channel towards the girl's door. Jack stood in the water, looking ahead, slowly realzing the gravity of the situation and wondering how it would affect Mandersala.
